We are direct lenders and have funded over 600 hard money loans and $125 million in loan value. Our mission is to provide creative real estate solutions to real estate investors. Meet The Longleaf Lending Team
Pete Underwood
Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Pete has over 17 years of real estate investment experience. His first investment into real estate came with the acquisition of a condo in Hawaii in 2006. His real estate experience includes owning and operating rental properties, fix and flip, wholesaling, and lending.
Prior to starting Longleaf, he spent 10 years in investment banking in New York and Houston. He has extensive deal experience having executed over $25 billion in deals across multiple industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, industrials, healthcare, and media and entertainment. Prior to his career in investment banking, Pete served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years in various operations and administrative roles. Pete earned his MBA from New York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University. Pete is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is married with two daughters.
Matt Weidert
Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Matt began lending directly to Texas real estate investors in 2019 and closed over 40 loans before starting Longleaf Lending with Pete.
He was previously a Vice President in investment banking covering energy in Houston with deal experience including advisory, high yield, and leveraged loan transactions. Prior to his career in investment banking, he worked at Shell on delivery of deepwater capital projects. Matt also served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps which included multiple deployments to Afghanistan and the Middle East. Matt earned his MBA from Rice University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. Matt is originally from California and is married with a son and a daughter.

Keith Moore
Loan Officer
Keith is from Houston, Texas and knows the local market very well. He has been in real estate investing for three years and has completed over 35 flips. Prior to real estate investing Keith worked as a licensed real estate agent and completed a little over 225 real estate transactions.
John Harvey
Loan Officer
As a Houston native, John recognizes and values the trust clients place in him. Being an experienced real estate investor, he offers a conscientious and pleasant communication approach demonstrating a passion for Real Estate. Outside of work, John assists with abandoned and rescued pets and wildlife, and enjoys almost everything outdoors.
